Catch Up On My Life

I was going to do a Writing 101 assignment today, but I really cannot do this next one.  It’s to write a character study about the most interesting person you’ve met in the last year.  Thing is, I don’t even remember specific events in the past year, let alone people that I may or may not have met.  Besides, anyone I know enough to do a character study on I have definitely known for multiple years.

There are many things that I could probably talk about with you today, and none of them are coming to me.  So I’ll just talk to you about my weekend. Continue reading Catch Up On My Life

Writing 101: Be Brief

You stumble upon a random letter on the path. You read it. It affects you deeply, and you wish it could be returned to the person to which it’s addressed. Write a story about this encounter.

Today’s twist: Approach this post in as few words as possible.

Walking down the sidewalk, a breeze throws a crumbled up paper across my path.  I picked it up to throw away, but notice some writing slightly smeared across.  It had been a little wet at one point.  It looked like tear stains.

You are more than what you have become.

– Jez

I’m not sure who this was for, but as I stare down at the paper, I realize that maybe in reality I was meant to find it.  It struck a deep cord with me, as I have been frustrated and confused with my state of life.  If someone else believes this to be true about me, then I must be correct.  I must find this Jez.

{Yeah I know, I twisted the prompt a little. 😛  What can I say.}

Idea for my Friday posts. (insert atempt at witty title here)

Oh man.  Really yesterday’s post should be enough for a couple days, but here I am writing something new for this lovely Friday afternoon.  It always starts out this way, and I have no idea what I’m going to enlighten you wonderful readers with today.  I want to make Fridays a weekly theme thing like I’ve done with Wednesdays.

I love writing, and I love writing about things I like.  How about Fanfiction Friday?  Maybe I’ll write a little short one-shot about a different fandom every week.  Maybe not, if I like what I wrote maybe I’ll just keep going with it.  Maybe I’ll post something later on, but it’s not something I can just come up with on the spot like this.

All the maybes.

I’m going to ignore all the moaning and groaning from all you lovely readers.  Mainly because I do what I want.  I’ll try to stay away from like NSFW writing and if it does end up with that, I will make it loud and clear well before you get to that part.  I think today, I will not do a fanfiction post, because that would be to fucking hard to come up with right now.  I will post something I wrote about a year ago cause I was bored as shit.  It is called “Tig’s Christmas.”

Writing 101: A Room with a View (or Just a View)

If you could zoom through space in the speed of light, what place would you go to right now?
Today’s twist: organize your post around the description of a setting.

It’s all I can hear, see, and smell.  The roar it makes echoes around me.  It’s all I can do not to just run and swan dive to the waters below, but that would be certain death from the rocky stalagmites just below the crystal clear glassy surface.  The sun shines at just the right angle, and a rainbow appears in the valley just outside.  If I could fly I could maybe touch it.  The water, however, rains down eternally from the heavens.  I cannot leave.  This is my prison.

Writing 101 – Day 1 Free Write

To get started, let’s loosen up. Let’s unlock the mind. Today, take twenty minutes to free write. And don’t think about what you’ll write. Just write.

And for your first twist? Publish this stream-of-consciousness post on your blog.

I ended up a little late in the Writing-101 gig.  It started Monday this week so this is what I am going to do today.  Monday’s prompt was about free-writing.  So for the next twenty minutes I will just continue to type out whatever garbage floats through my brain.  I apologize in advance.  No, I really do apologize.  x__x

Witty Words for Wednesday – Cussing

(Originally written on 9-7-2014)

Cussing, swear words, and other words deemed as “Bad Words” are pointless.  Think about it.  No matter if I say “what the fuck” or “what the potato,” you are going to know I actually meant the same thing both times, right?  Words are just grunts and sounds with intention behind them.  If different sounds come out but your intention is the same, then what is the difference.  You may as well just say the “cuss” word.  How could we have different languages in the world if different sounds with the same intentions actually meant different than the original intent?

Well today is the start of a new month.  I am kind of excited to see what I can accomplish for myself.  School starts back up at the end of this month.  I have been feeling very tired lately and I’m not quite sure why.  Not exhausted tired but sleepy tired.  I feel consistency is important in journal keeping even if I am too tired to think of a good topic to write about.  Also, just discovered a huge dent on the front of my shin.  Really strange and no idea where it is from.
