Witty Words for Wednesday – Stupidity

Stupid people make me laugh.  They are the world’s way of making somewhat intelligent people feel better about themselves.  The word stupid comes from the French word stupide or the Latin stupidus.  Stupidus is from the word stupere, which means “be amazed or stunned.”  It is so amazing sometimes what certain people are capable of.  I am beside myself sometimes with what I see people doing.  Continue reading Witty Words for Wednesday – Stupidity

Catch Up On My Life

I was going to do a Writing 101 assignment today, but I really cannot do this next one.  It’s to write a character study about the most interesting person you’ve met in the last year.  Thing is, I don’t even remember specific events in the past year, let alone people that I may or may not have met.  Besides, anyone I know enough to do a character study on I have definitely known for multiple years.

There are many things that I could probably talk about with you today, and none of them are coming to me.  So I’ll just talk to you about my weekend. Continue reading Catch Up On My Life

Writing 101: Be Brief

You stumble upon a random letter on the path. You read it. It affects you deeply, and you wish it could be returned to the person to which it’s addressed. Write a story about this encounter.

Today’s twist: Approach this post in as few words as possible.

Walking down the sidewalk, a breeze throws a crumbled up paper across my path.  I picked it up to throw away, but notice some writing slightly smeared across.  It had been a little wet at one point.  It looked like tear stains.

You are more than what you have become.

– Jez

I’m not sure who this was for, but as I stare down at the paper, I realize that maybe in reality I was meant to find it.  It struck a deep cord with me, as I have been frustrated and confused with my state of life.  If someone else believes this to be true about me, then I must be correct.  I must find this Jez.

{Yeah I know, I twisted the prompt a little. 😛  What can I say.}

Writing 101: Serially Lost Part 1

Write about a loss: something (or someone) that was part of your life, and isn’t any more.
Today’s twist: Make today’s post the first in a three-post series.

I am going to talk to you today about myself.  I lost myself, my identity, and everything I wanted to be.  Back in 2008 I switched majors and schools from a community college taking CIS classes to a private college going for veterinary technician.  I could only go part time, and had a hard time only towards the end of the general education classes that were before getting into the actual program.  It was a restricted program and only 25 people a year were allowed in out of a couple hundred.  Also, you could only apply twice, after that you’re SOL.  I didn’t get in.  After the first rejection (and knowing of other people who DID get in) I was pretty depressed for a while.  I really had to think about things, and maybe thought that I actually didn’t want to do that.  When I realized this, I  had wasted a good 5 years of my life and about $8,000 worth of loan debt.  I didn’t know what to do.

Writing 101: Music

Write about the three most important songs in your life — what do they mean to you?

I’m skipping this one, because I have a very strange relationship with music.  I don’t have any songs that are most important to me, the songs that mean everything to me change from mood to mood, and moment to moment.  I seriously sat here at my desk for like 20 minutes and could not come up with one song in particular.  Music is like therapy for your soul.  Whatever mood I’m in, I have certain songs that call out to me.  I don’t really consider them to be the most important things in my life, just to what I am feeling at that moment.

Idea for my Friday posts. (insert atempt at witty title here)

Oh man.  Really yesterday’s post should be enough for a couple days, but here I am writing something new for this lovely Friday afternoon.  It always starts out this way, and I have no idea what I’m going to enlighten you wonderful readers with today.  I want to make Fridays a weekly theme thing like I’ve done with Wednesdays.

I love writing, and I love writing about things I like.  How about Fanfiction Friday?  Maybe I’ll write a little short one-shot about a different fandom every week.  Maybe not, if I like what I wrote maybe I’ll just keep going with it.  Maybe I’ll post something later on, but it’s not something I can just come up with on the spot like this.

All the maybes.

I’m going to ignore all the moaning and groaning from all you lovely readers.  Mainly because I do what I want.  I’ll try to stay away from like NSFW writing and if it does end up with that, I will make it loud and clear well before you get to that part.  I think today, I will not do a fanfiction post, because that would be to fucking hard to come up with right now.  I will post something I wrote about a year ago cause I was bored as shit.  It is called “Tig’s Christmas.”

Final Fantasy Mix Tape

Well my jaw is feeling better, too bad I got my brother’s sinus infection.  -__-  Man I just can’t get a break.  I will probably never be like healthy.

I couldn’t decide what to write for today’s post, but I saw a kotaku article that was based on the fact that Final Fantasy Theatrhythm: Curtain Call released today on the 3DS and I soooo want it.  It’s to make your own Final Fantasy mix tape.  I am going to limit myself to only having the original music — no remixes or anything like that.

Man this isn’t going to be easy.
